I have a 1/8 twist 22-250 on order with a 22.5" barrel. I'm stacked deep in 75 AMAX and will be using them first. I have a couple questions:

1) What load and powder would you recommend? I'm thinking H4350 and also have some H100V but have seen some positive feedback on H414.

2) Would an 80 gr ELD stabilize in a 1/8 twist at 1,000' ASL.

In the vicinity of dandihood
For 75's I'm using Ramshot Hunter for 3300FPS via 24" Rock bbl in Lapua cases. Essentially 4350 burn rate but meters like a dream through both a Dillon and a Harrells.

2. Only a guess, but 80's in a 1:8 '250 wouldn't scare me. Pard has a 1:8 22BR that'll stabilize 80gn A-max

1) Re-15/200's and a Smooch

2) Yes..............

I'm getting 3230 fps with H414 and the 75 AMAX from my 22" 22-250.
RL 15 gave me great accuracy while working up but I hit pressure before I got velocities that I wanted

What kind of velocity can I expect? 3200 fps with 75s?
3200" is a breeze in my 21" SALAMI 22-250 1-7" Rock and I actually prefer it closer to 3300fps ala '15.

Bottom left.

Pass the 223AI's.............(grin)

Got the 223AI covered and agree that it's the most for the least. However, I could not pass up a factory offering in a 1/8 twist south paw. I'll burn barrel out and then go 24" Rem Varmint contour 6.5 Creed.

How temp sensitive is H414? Down here in the Southeast, trigger time can range from 30 deg. to 100 deg.

More temp sensitive than some powders. I think H414's sensitivity is exaggerated a bit though. I shoot from about the teens to 90 degree plus with no issues. I worked my load up when it was in the upper 70s though.

Good to know. I'll probably start with H4350 since it's what I have some of. After that, I'll try others. I've seen H414 mentioned quite a bit which is why I inquired.

I was getting 3350 with 39.5 of '17 out of a 23" rock creek 1-8". 22-250ai. A lot more bang to get just a little better than a .223ai in my opinion.

Or a 20" Krunchenticker 22 Grendel slingin' mag fed 75 ELD smooches at 3100fps.

My 1-7.7" Krieger 22-250AI likes 75 A-Max at 3450 fps+,from it's 23"...ala '15.....................

For that, the 6mm version would be the best route.

I'm in LOVE with the .224" version however.

What an incredible fucking platform..................
