Have a barrel and bolt on the way, I know there's been a few threads here somewhere but can't find them.

What's everyone running in them?

Leaning towards 105 HPBTs but may give 90 gr Scenars a try as well.

6 Grendel here.... 105's, Lever, Hornady brass, 22" barrel. getting 2750, but it's pretty hard on brass. Next batch I'll probably drop down just a touch.

2700+ is where I’d like to be. Have read of 2800 in a 20” but I’m a bit skeptical.

Might give Starline a try, should have everything here by the weekend.

Should whack a Bear with both a 224 and 243 Grendel this pass...if only to help the Deer Population.

I doubt Sister will say "No"...…………(grin)

Thanks, I'm curious to hear how you like it.
6 grendel seems like a good way to go but I'm just not sure how much I'd actually carry an AR around

I'll keep you posted.

I'm in the same boat about carrying an AR. I liked the 6.5 well enough, carried it a few times. 123 ELD Hornady Black did fine on deer. I just never got really excited about it, if that makes any sense.

Figured I'd give the 6 Gren, LBC, Predator or whatever a shot, it "looks" so much better on paper than the 6.5 version. I don't see it replacing a bolt gun, or getting carried a ton.

On thing I do like about the AR platform, is I can go from a rifle that fits me (6'7"), to a good fit for my wife (5'7"), to a small kid in a second or less.

I'm getting ready to re-work my 6AR barrel into a short-range PRS setup.

Probably sticking with the barrel @ 22", but putting it in a Seekins IRMT-3 upper/handguard. This might be my favorite handguard/upper that I've ever used. I just wish it had an ARCA rail cut into the bottom of the handguard.

I still haven't even messed with mine.

I'm going to try and load some up this weekend. I'd guess 27 grains would be a safe start with Lever and 105s?

Personally...I'd not want one longer than 20".

Long day,so I hate to go from the hip on load data,as I shoot more than a few chamberings and would hate to misremember.........................

Finally got around to this, well sort of anyway.

Threw 10 loads of 27.5 Lvr, 105 HPBT in range pick up Hornady brass.

2 to line up and then 8-shot group. I think it'll be a shooter.

Only ejected the last 2 rounds, and they didn't go far...

Bolt locked open on empty mag every time, brass laying (backwards 3x) in the upper on top of mag. Never had any issues with the 6.5 barrel and bolt. Only other change was going from mid-length to rifle gas. Rifle ejected dummies fine. Only thing noticeable on the cases were pretty deep grooves/marks from the extractor.

I'm still horribly uncomfortable shooting these. Just doesn't feel 'right' at all. Need to work up to pressure in these virgin Starline cases and load the lot and practice more. Was really surprised the group wasn't quite a bit bigger, felt like I pulled most of them.

I'd start by making sure the chamber is CLEAN and would take it from there.

Hornady brass,is the worst shit going.................

Extractor was sharp as a razor. Sanded it down a bit.

Ejected everything fine today. Think I’ll load the rest and spend some time with this one. Still feel like im pulling every shot.

Barrel is good to go though.
