Anyone seen one of these out yet? Price is attractive, and there is a fair bit of positive chatter about them.

Wouldn't mind upgrading from my Leica.

My Bushy 600 was superb, trumping my Leica 800 in ranging abilities.

Would I trade Leica 1200 LRF optics,to garner Bushy 1600 range determination increases?

Yep...because I use 'em to range,not gawk..............

Assuming the RF part of the 2 units were same/same, as per quality, I'd give up some optical quality to save money.

I don't know what Leica CS is like, but IME Bushy sucks ass.

I was extrapolating aloud,in that my 600 Bush, floored my 800 Leica in ranging ability. Were the 1600 as billed in it's ranging abilities,I'd happily trade the Leica view, for the Bushy's increase in performance that matters most to me...which is simply determining distance.

I'll make them "trade-offs" all day and every day..............

If you do get one, give us a report.
I've looked through enough junk busnell scopes that I cant bring myself to buy anything with "bushnell" on it. My opinion of bushnell could be totaly off base.

Must say I'm a little surprised to hear you say that. I've been considering buying a 1600, only I've never been a big Bushnell fan and am kinda scared to.......

The bushnell picks up pretty good at extended ranges. The one I was playing with a while back was consistantly ranging @ the 1300 yd mark, had a little trouble reading at 1400+

Reticle is kinda goofy looking, but there's choices. I'm inclined to take it afield next year.

I bought one of these back in early August to replace my Leica CRF 1200 which wouldn't range a dall sheep at all. Thought maybe I had a faulty one so I sent it back and they gave me a new one, same deal with that one too. So I sold it and bought the Bushy.

This fall I used the Bushnell to range over 15 different rams, some ewes/lambs, moose and caribou and it worked every time. I'm sold on it.

Saw this pic of the Bushy on another forum. I think it's just ranging trees, not a deer.

Something else to consider....

In using my Scout 1000 side-by-side with Chris's CRF 1200, I much prefer the red display on the Leica. When ranging things at night (predator hunting) the Bushnell's black display was completely unreadable.

A 250yd zero with a 22-250AI,will nicely slice through the night.

Takes a purty good light to mandate an erector adjust.............

Bringing this from the dead if anyone is still in the market. Have not used all my zeiss/leicas in over a year since i got my Terrapin. Amazing how they seem like toys in comparison and the ammount of $$ i spent over the years.

Trained my leica 1200, 1600. geovid 7x42 and 10x42 geovids, still got the zeiss rf 10x45 for hunting but rarely use them since i never shoot over 800 and the glass is awesome but the laser in those are crappy also. Terrapin will hit 3000yards 95% of the time and once in a while will reach to 4000.

Is the Bushnell Elite 1500 worth having or is it garbage?
Since the old thread is resurrected I'll put my 2 cents in for future reference..
The 1500 won't hit shit at 1500 that aint trees or houses. Furthest I've gotten a hit on my target was, I think 936, after I taped some shiny shit to a box and set it nearby. Took several shots to hit it too. It's a practical hunting LRF but leaves a guy wanting more for play time. Does a good job inside 800.

The Terrapin looks impressive but the $2k price tag will keep the proven old Leica LRF800 brick in my pack until it dies....

leica/zeiss/swaro are all toys. It took me almost 2 years to ponny up the $$ for a terrapin but after i finally did i kicked myself for not pulling the trigger sooner. Depends how far you shoot, i go out to 3000y steel almost weekly so not much of a choice really. I started shooting ELR after i got the terrapin, it become fun real quick ranging shit as far as you can see. Going back to my leica 1600 will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
