I have Leupold DD's on my Montana, and I think the empty case is hitting the rear base where I have it circled. Sometimes leaving the empty on the follower. Can this be ground without screwing up the integrity of the base? Or do I need to replace with a picatinny base, and cut it so it is two pieces, so my fat fingers fit to load cartridges?

I think I am going to replace the 30mm, 1-6 Leupy with my SWFA SS 6X FF.

I had Talleys on mine and never had an issue. My 7WSM still wears them, but my .308 now wears an EGW 20moa rail. I cussed it today as I was fighting the rail while loading it.

Kimber offers a rail with a cutout, but they're proud of it...

I've beveled receiver rings, bases, rings and scopes...to connect dots.

Metal moves easy and nothing warmer/fuzzier,than the warm/fuzzy...............(grin)

I ordered a TI handle, but until it arrives I decided to extend my original shifter with an aluminum threaded knob I already had.

After the holidays I am going to get a couple new handles, not Ti's, but, for free. Then I'll be set.

I've got these on a few bolt guns, including my Montana. I like them quite a bit...it's rubber but doesn't slip and it reminds me of the ball on my Anschutz and AI bolts...
