Shaen spun together a nice rig for me again. Used my reamer for the 3rd time. Its a 6.5x47 lapua with a .170 throat. So my heavy 6.5x47 built by Dan Dowling using this reamer has always been a fantastic shooter. It wears a medium palma Hawk Hill. So you would expect it to.

This one is a #2 Hawk Hill cut at 19" and threaded for my UL7. I bedded the lug only on the old wood bdl stock I keep hanging around till McMillan gets the Game Scout done. Grabbed some 147 ELD loads from the heavy 6.5x47 stash and thought I'd give them a run in this one. Chambered fine and shot great and the 147 is running 2,600 fps. So looks like no time or components wasted on load development. Since I typically hunt at 8,000 feet or above, that speed works quite well for me.

If a guy needs action truing, barrel chambering, or any other stuff done, I'd recommend Shaen do it.

Those Hawk Hill barrels are working good for you!

Have a barrel in order for Shaen right now.

I need to grab some 147s and try in my x47. 123s are shooting crazy good though.

In a 2.8" box I want a 224 or 243 Kreedmire...both wearing LRP's.

Ala AICS footprint,the264 Kreedmire has tons of wiggle room, even with the SALAMI .199" freebore................

Stick, The Lapua was just different and all 3 have done very well from the very first range session each. I would like to try that Alpha brass and might in my daughter's Creedmoor sometime. I'd happily take either. Shooting lefty has me building vs the easy Creedmoor Fieldcraft. Plus it allows me to avoid some of the crazy Creedmoor threads lol.

You tried a 7.5 twist in 6.5 yet? Curious if that would be worth it, but doesn't seem needed for the 147 particularly at my altitude.

8" is as fast as I go,in .264" bore sizing. 7.5" wouldn't aspook me...but 147's do nice thangs at Kreed' velocity in an 8".................

I've never done more than an 8" in any 6.5 and had no problems, several x47's and two diff saums. I did just order up a 7.5" to see wtf on the next one though.

6.5 prc with factory 147's to let the clients shoot when they show up with junk that doesn't work right. Plus some R&D against the saums.

It’s not my only shotgun, but it’s the one that goes most often. Only thing it needs is an adjustable, level comb and I’d be good.
