Who to use for custom reamer?

Got a 6.5-06 that is getting a bit long in the throat. I can chase the lands a bit more, but kind of wanting to get a reamer on order. I'm considering one of two chamberings. A 6.5-270 with throat for a 140 berger to hit lands at 3.35. The 147 will be just slightly longer and will work as well.

Or a 7x64 setup to shoot the 180 ELD at a length I still need to determine.

The question is who would you use to make either of those reamers? Thank you

Why the 7x64? Not a 280?

Availability of Lapua brass mainly. And I reload everything so factory ammo has zero appeal. I think they are pretty much ballistic twins.

I'd go 280 and use Lapooey '06 for false shoulders and never trim a fucking neck...........

Thank Stick, that has merit and I hadn't considered it. Going to see how much life I can find in the old 6.5-06 but that is very interesting.

Just bought the last 8 twist 6.5 barrel that Hawk had on the shelf. The 6.5-06 has been too good to me and I'll stay the course with another I guess.

For me,I'd simply rather shoot my 264 Kreedmires,than my 8" 6.5-06.

A 280 with 180's is a whole BUNCH more ass and rates the transition to L/A,along with 700 COAL latitude. But my 7-08AI thinks it's a 280 and it's prolly right.(grin)

Though I'll always shoot S/A's more and the 7 Whizzum Montucky Herd connects all dots............

Who knows maybe I'll buy another sa lefty 700 action for a 6.5, glad to have an extra barrel on hand either way though. Haven't found anything that can survive the 6.5 diameter bullets yet, so larger stuff is losing its appeal quickly.
