Drug out my 250 Savage Ackley recently to try some powders I hadn't worked with. My old standby H322 continued to lead the pack with the Sierra 75's (coyote juicer load) or the Sierra 87 gr. SPT. One of my grandkiddos used the rig to kill his first deer. The 87 gr Sierra worked perfectly at 150 yds. He loves the fixed 6 power. He say's "It makes it simple!"

In all reality, if I was doing another I'd go with either a 25X47 on the 6.5X47 Lapua necked down or a .25-243 based on the 243 Lapua case necked up.....with necking up always being my preference, when possible. Die simplicity and brass availability is much simpler with this approach.
